WAS CREATED BY TO MAKE CHARITABLE DONATIONS IN A WAY THAT REFLECTS THE VALUES AND INTERESTS OF THE OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES OF . THE IS ONE ASPECT OF OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY AND TO SOCIAL CHANGE.THE DISTRIBUTES THE MAJORITY OF FUNDS TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING, LOCAL FOOD, AND RENEWABLE ENERGY. THE REMAINING FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: CONSERVATION and ENVIRONMENT, SCHOOLS and CHILDREN, HEALTH and SOCIAL SERVICES, ARTS and CULTURE, AND GLOBAL POVERTY RELIEF. WE ALSO KEEP A SET-ASIDE FOR EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS. 39 GRANTS WERE DISTRIBUTED DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR.

SINCE 1881, THE NEWARK YMCA HAS SERVED THE COMMUNITY THROUGH AN ARRAY OF SERVICES IS KNOWN FOR DELIVERING INNOVATIVE EFFECTIVE PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS LOCAL NEEDS. THROUGHOUT OUR HISTORY, THE NEWARK YMCA HAS WORKED CLOSELY WITH SCHOOLS, FAMILIES COMMUNITY LEADERS TO IDENTIFY RESPOND TO COMMUNITY NEEDS, IN AN EFFORT TO SERVE ALL FAMILIES IN A CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE WAY, WITH A PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON THOSE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY CONNECTED WITH COMMUNITY PROGRAMS. WE ARE HERE FOR FAMILIES OF THOSE TAKEN IN SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY.

Over 1,850 boxes of food were delivered to poor households in NYC in 2019, the number of households benefited is approximately 180 per each food drive, and there is an average of 10 food drives per year.

HUDSON VALLEY FARM HUB:COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROFESSIONAL FARMER TRAINING, THE HOSTING AND SUPPORTING OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH, THE DEMONSTRATION OF NEW FARM TECHNOLOGIES, AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR ADVANCES IN FOOD AND FARMING.

We provide money to build schools pay teacher and administration salaries pay cooks and buy local provisions school lunches. We also provide pre-packaged lunches to be used in the schools. Help Kids India supports the work of the Betsy Elizabeth Trust (BET), an Indian non-profit organization. HKI funds three BET preschools serving a total of 170 children who live in poverty, most of whom are Dalit (Untouchable).
